Aeon gets coaming trim

(to start of project)

Rain and cold, freezing mist. A long lazy weekend, spent mostly by the fire with a good book. Been reading a lot lately, I’ve missed it, and have quite a backlog of good stuff to last all winter. It’s rather nice to spend a morning drifting in a story where boats play some part – a little history, some adventure, or just plain good storytelling – then take a hot mug of coffee downstairs to do a little work on one. Adds a little spice to the process, like a gumbo versus plain soup.

Ripped, routed, and fitted the outer trim pieces to the side coamings on Aeon. Not a big task, but enough to keep things moving. When it comes to clamps, variety counts as much as quantity. I’m starting to get curious how this Walnut coaming will look once cleaned up and varnished. It starts out such a rough, sloppy mess it’s a bit hard to imagine.

  1. Looking good, Barry. Nice to see things moving at a less frantic pace. As always, I enjoy a little boat fix. Especially when I don’t have a big project going myself. Cheers!

  2. Glad to share. I need a boat fix, too, now and then.

By the way, some of your weather got out and has been running around here causing mischief all week. Been knocking over trashcans, howling all night, nipping at everybody’s fingers, ears and noses, being a general first class nuisance. I know it’s yours, cuz it’s been colder here than there. You might want to come pick it up before somebody calls the pound. Been thinking of looking up that number myself. If I see it I’m gonna throw sticks at it. Just so you know. Skiing much lately?
