The girls came home from their separate away homes for the weekend. Amanda brought Paul, and we all had a little birthday get together. Storms knocked out the power again Friday night, but we happily made do with grilling and eating by candlelight. When the power finally back on, we just turned out the lights and kept going.
Saturday was all clear, bright sunshine and blue skies. We made a trip up Carter’s Mountain to spend the afternoon in the apple and peach orchards, now in full bloom. Fresh hot cider and apple donuts, still steaming in the boxes.
We’ve been coming here since the girls were small, and had their 16th birthday party on top of the mountain. A nice homecoming.
