Running the Gauntlet Through Hampton Roads

A sailboat sank in the anchorage. In the storm overnight, after it was dragged off the sea wall in the middle of the blow. We passed it in the way out.

Then went through the mosh pit of commmercial and military ships in Hampton Roads.

Finally worked across the channel into the lee behind Fort Monroe for a reprieve, only to have the wind shift and poke us in the nose.
